Committed to fostering emerging talented singers by providing them with high quality training and performance, nonprofit arts organization Angels Vocal Art was founded by Anna and Melvin Lin in 2006 by launching a series of masterclasses with Carlo Bergonzi, an Italian tenor particularly recognized for his work in Verdi's operas. The Lins decided to honor his memory by continuing to offer programs and adding further opportunities for aspiring opera singers.

Through programs such as the Opera Intensive, the Los Angeles based organization teaches young singers how to perform in full operatic productions, hones their acting ability, and provides them with opportunities to build a professional network. Guided by inspiring mentors, Angels Vocal Art equips singers with essential tools and insights for career development.

A safe and supportive community while still challenging singers to strive for excellence, Angels Vocal Art helps students grow to the next level with the aid of top-notch professionals in the industry. Also, as Los Angeles’ only summer opera festival, Angels Vocal Art showcases emerging artists alongside world-class talent.

In celebrating the Bernstein Centennial, this year’s Opera Intensive & Festival features a Bernstein art salon and a full production of Candide in state-of-the-art theater A Noise Within in Pasadena, CA. An annual favorite, under the leadership of conductor and artistic director Kristof Van Grysperre, Angels Vocal Art will also present two spectacular evenings of beloved scenes from celebrated operas, fully staged with professional orchestra.
